Linwood Avenue is a freshly updated Columbus house with wood-look floors, pale walls, and tall double-hung windows looking out over a covered front porch and mature street trees. It is bright but plain, which is exactly where home staging does the most work: without furniture, rooms like these photograph as boxes.
We gave it an easy, collected feel. Two sage velvet armchairs face a white sofa across a woven coffee table, with a vintage-style rug to pull the greens and rusts together. Open wood shelving with an arched mirror adds height on the long wall. By the front windows, a pair of rattan chairs and a tiny side table turn a leftover corner into a spot for coffee. Sheer white panels on brass rods keep every window soft without blocking light.
Home staging in Columbus for a first-home buyer
The dining room sits right off the entry, so we used a solid wood table with cream upholstered chairs and a tall olive tree to make it read as a real room on arrival. Upstairs, the primary bedroom stays calm: white bedding, a blue quilted throw, a bench at the foot of the bed and linen curtains. The goal throughout was scale that fits a city house and a look a first-time buyer can picture moving into.
