Home Staging in Powell, Ohio
Powell is on the far side of the city from our Newark studio, a straightforward drive around I-270 into southern Delaware County.

Staged in Powell
“Vaulted ceilings, black marble and a soft blush-and-oat palette.”
See Ashmoore Court →Home staging in Powell, Ohio usually means family homes in the newer subdivisions of southern Delaware County, north of Columbus and a short distance from the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. Many of these houses share a layout: a vaulted great room open to the kitchen, a formal dining room near the front door and a primary suite with more floor space than most furniture knows what to do with. We come in from Newark by way of I-270, and the drive is worth it for homes like these.
What Powell homes need in listing photos
Vaulted ceilings are a selling point until the photos flatten them. A great room with high windows and one sectional pushed against a wall looks empty and oddly proportioned online. The fix is a furniture plan with a clear center, lamps at several heights and art sized to the wall, not to a normal eight-foot room.
Open plans also need edges. When the family room flows into the kitchen and breakfast area, buyers should be able to see where one zone ends and the next begins. Rugs, the placement of chairs and a dining table that is clearly a dining table do most of that work.
Our Powell project on Ashmoore Court
Ashmoore Court is the kind of Powell house described above. The vaulted great room has a black marble fireplace with a white mantel, lit built-ins and a band of transom windows looking into trees. We grounded it with a slipcovered sofa, two rounded boucle swivel chairs and a chunky wood coffee table, then added blush and terracotta pillows and large abstract art so the tall wall above the mantel felt finished.
In the dining room, a woven drum pendant, a solid wood table and upholstered chairs worked with the existing chair rail. The vaulted primary bedroom got a bed on a patterned rug, a pair of chairs in the sitting area and a tall olive tree to fill the corner, plus a small vanity with a burl console and a wavy mirror. Every room kept the same warm neutral palette, which helps the photo set read as one house.
Rooms we would prioritize in Powell
- The great room, where the vaulted ceiling needs scale and a center.
- The kitchen and breakfast area, lightly styled to show flow.
- The dining room, so buyers see it used rather than skipped.
- The primary suite, including any sitting area.

Home staging in Powell: questions
Do you charge extra to travel to Powell?
Powell is on the far side of Columbus from our Newark studio, so travel and delivery logistics are part of the custom proposal we write after the onsite assessment, alongside the rooms and furnishings. You approve the full scope before anything is scheduled.
How do you stage a room with vaulted ceilings?
With scale and height. We use full-size seating arranged around a clear center, lamps and plants at different heights to carry the eye upward, and larger art for tall walls. On Ashmoore Court that meant a slipcovered sofa, two swivel chairs and big abstract canvases around the fireplace, so the room felt generous instead of empty.
Can you stage just part of a Powell home?
Yes. We usually focus on the entry, great room, dining room, kitchen and primary suite, since those rooms carry the listing photos. Other rooms can be added if they need a defined purpose, like a bonus room shown as an office. The proposal lists exactly which spaces are included.
What if we are still living in the house?
Then occupied home staging is the better fit. After a consultation, we mix supplemental furniture, art and accessories from our inventory with what you already have, filling in the gaps rather than replacing everything. It keeps the house livable for your family while it photographs and shows like a staged home.
